    Design
The American-madeOld Adirondack Occasional Adirondack Chair has a deep, roomy seat and comfortably positioned arms. It is proportioned for comfortable dining and can be used as an occasional chair both inside and out.

    Cedar
The Occasional is natural and untreated cedar, which begins as a pale tan or light gold and ages to a graceful silvery gray. This sturdy, functional, and durable cedar absorbs and loses moisture slowly; it wont crack or swell like oak or pine. The fresh odor exuded by cedar also acts as a mild insect repellant. Cedar has the U.S. Forest Products Laboratory highest rating for decay and disease resistance.

    Other materials
The Occasional boasts mortise and tenon joinery and durable zinc-coated stainless-steel hardware.

The Old Adirondack Furniture Company traces its history to the Great Camps of the Adirondack Park circa 1880 - 1929. Prominent industrialists established their retreats in the Adirondack region in order to escape from the summer heat of New York City, Philadelphia and Boston. Flat Rock Camp at the eastern edge of the park, like other Great Camps, boasts many buildings whose functions resemble those of a rural village: blacksmith, carpentry shop, green houses, tennis courts, bowling alleys, teahouses etc. Experience the Adirondacks and enjoy the craftsmanship of each piece. Any vision of American outdoor style includes classic Adirondack furniture. This icon originates in the great North East woodlands of the U.S. and travels to every corner of our country. Rustic, yet refined furniture lines are found lakeside, poolside and in every backyard. Superb weathering characteristics of natural Northern White Cedar develop a soft gray weathered look of centuries past within a year in most climates. Adirondack furniture gives any home a sense of permanence and history
